Choosing an encapsulated O-ring
An encapsulated O-ring combines an elastomer core with a protective jacket. Start a replacement enquiry with the equipment specification and existing part designation, then confirm the jacket, core and dimensions.

FEP, PFA and core construction
Freudenberg describes FEP/PFA jackets around FKM or silicone cores, including hollow-core designs. These constructions are different from solid PTFE rings. Confirm the actual offered specification; a manufacturer’s range does not establish AKVT availability. Freudenberg: construction reference.
Check the application before ordering
For a static housing or flange, provide medium, concentration, temperature, pressure or vacuum and the groove drawing. Ask for the complete assembly’s suitability to be reviewed, especially if the process includes cleaning cycles or changing media.
For moving service, consult the selected manufacturer: ERIKS recommends static use of its encapsulated rings and calls for suitability testing in dynamic applications. Dimensions and supporting documents
Send inside diameter × cross-section with units, the original drawing and jacket/core codes if known. Label measurements from an old sample, particularly if it is distorted. Use how to measure an O-ring to prepare the dimensional information.
