A ball plunger is a compact spring-loaded component used to create controlled contact for positioning, locating, detent, stop or light thrust functions. This custom sample was supplied for review where a standard catalogue configuration may not match the required size or construction.

A compact custom configuration

The sample combines a threaded SS304 body, a white polymer ball tip, an internal-hex drive and a longitudinal slot in the body. The exact ball and spring materials remain part of the final technical confirmation. The spring-loaded tip moves under pressure and returns when the load is removed.

Before production or supply, the thread size and pitch, SS304 scope, ball material, spring material, spring load, working travel, installation method, tolerances, quantity and operating environment should be agreed. These details determine whether the component will provide the required contact force and service life.
